Stormy Kansas skies today, 8:00 a.m. CST
Several people have commented that these clouds look like mountains... I didn't see the "mountains" when I first posted this, although upon second inspection, I can see how it could look like mountains. They are very stormy clouds however! :-)

ReplyDeleteThese are stunning, indeed. I mistook the darkest clouds for mountains. Great captures.
ReplyDeleteLove to see green!! It's a nice contrast to the storm clouds.
ReplyDeleteGosh. Those are absolutely stunning! Are you sure there's no tornado in there?
ReplyDeleteI read your City Gal to Oz story. Fabulous! I know exactly what you mean about the sounds of nature. That's how I feel about my swamp!
It seems like you can see a storm approaching hours before it gets to you.
ReplyDeleteI think of you when the weather turns nasty down here; it's almost always worse in Oklahoma and Kansas. But there's something magnetic about lowering skies and impending storms: drama, fear, excitement, wonder.
ReplyDeleteThese photos reflect all of the above.
This is such a peaceful photo. Very appealing. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI looked again! I thought the storm clouds were hills or mountains. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe blues and the greens make for a great photo, good skywatch post.
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty! The light makes the green and blue so vibrant! And it's almost as though the sky is touching the ground!
ReplyDeleteAmazing Susan...thanks, thanks, thanks for share this!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the photos were of the Rockies - then I realized you're from KN! Those are sure rolling clouds.
ReplyDeleteI did think the second pic had mountains at first...

wow! i wish i could run in the grass field and enjoy the scenery!
ReplyDeleteThey look very much like mountains. It's wonderful when sky landscapes merge with the ones of earth. We get the same effect sometimes where I live - (though no-where near as dramatic) and, even knowing what should be there, I'm sometimes caught out by clouds.

PICTURES JUST PICTURES

ReplyDeleteThey DO look like mountains! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteWow, the color's are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOG: I didn't know Kansas had mountains, you look like you are in the Rockies with those sky photos.
ReplyDeleteJust linked here from another site and took a quick look at your pictures. This one is my favorite. I moved to Ulysses, KS from Cody, WY and miss the mountains. I look for the mountain shape of clouds myself, so I particularly liked this shot.
ReplyDeleteI have a few Kansas pics and Wyoming ones on my site if you have a chance to pop in. "The Jenny Tree" shows the mtns behind our house.
