Oh, how I wish I had a wide lens!!! I see so many breathtaking sunsets right off our front porch, but I never feel that I can capture their total beauty, only a small sliver. This stretched so far both ways; maybe I need to try Photoshop's stitching together capabilities. But I think I must get a wide lens next...
I'm not sure which shot I like better -- in the first, I caught the vibrant hues in the sky. In the second, I caught more landscape detail. Tell me which one YOU like best! :-)

Hard to choose but I think I like the top one with the landscape darker and more of the sky showing. If you see another one of these, pls do try the stitch together editing. I'd love to see the results! It's a cheap way until you get your new lens!
ReplyDeleteI like the top one as well...
ReplyDeletethe 1st is the best
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I love them BOTH!!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing
The colors in the first one are so vibrant!

I like the second one best. Definitely. It gives a sense of place that is missing in the first one.
ReplyDeleteThe sky in the first one is lovely, of course. But there are lovely skies the world over - but that wide area in front, with the few bare trees gives it a particularity. It is where you live.
Not only that, the eye is drawn forward through the landscape and up to the sky in the second photo whereas, in the first one, the eye goes straight to the vivid streak across the picture, then, as if blinded by the light, one peers into the forground. That fragments the experience and introduces conflicting emotions.
Well . . . um . . . you did ask!
Lucy
Top one for me - more dramatic.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI like them both. The first is probably my favorite as I love the bright colors of a sunset.
ReplyDeleteI would love a wide lens too and thanks for coming by my blog.
I was certainly outnumbered there!
ReplyDelete(Still like the second one best though!)

I have to agree with Lucy, I like the second one best too. I also like to get sunset photos! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all these colors, great skywatch shots.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

I'm always thinking that about my lens when I shoot the sky.
ReplyDeleteOf course the vibrant (EXTREMELY vibrant) colors really grab me. I like it because the sky above and below is so subtle, but there is a streak of brilliance. Gorgeous.
Both are nice. It depends what you are looking for. The color is more vibrant in the first but I can see the landscape better in the second!
ReplyDeleteI love the color in the first, but as a photo to enjoy over time the second one gets my vote. Thanks for visiting my blog!
